About physiotherapy applied to TMJ
TMJ pathologies are mainly due to trauma, emotional stress and/or parafunctions, which lead to an occlusion problem, imbalances between muscle forces and pain. A greater efficacy has been demonstrated in the conservative treatment of these pathologies as a first option compared to pharmacological or surgical treatments. Physiotherapy, through manual therapy, therapeutic exercises and invasive techniques are a very useful conservative treatment to treat these pathologies.
