Immediate load implantology, a treatment that is increasingly predictable

Ahoa Clinic presents the results of the study on immediate load implantology in Paris

Dental implantology, and specifically immediate load implantology, revolutionizes the lives of many people every day. In short, this procedure allows the patient to recover the health and functionality of his mouth in a period of time unthinkable a few years ago, with a minimally invasive surgery and practically without discomfort.

But this discipline has not yet reached the end of the road. During the 25th European Congress of Implantology of the scientific association EAO (European Association of Osseointegration), held in Paris last October, Dr. Cercadillo and Dr. Sanchez, from the Surgery team of the Ahoa Clinic, presented a study carried out at the University of Barcelona with even more encouraging data.

The study presented the long-term results of implant treatment in cases of complete jaws and applying immediate loading protocols. This 9-year study provided very representative data for the scientific community, demonstrating that the immediate loading procedure in these cases is a predictable treatment with a success rate of 99.5%.

This shows that the success rates of immediate loading treatment have improved significantly over the years, thanks in large part to advances in both the procedures and the new materials used, which are more compatible with the body.

This is without taking into account the more immediate benefits for patients: the procedure is much faster and less invasive, which significantly reduces recovery and minimizes the associated discomfort.

The study was presented together with 600 other papers by specialists from all over the world, such as South Korea, Taiwan and Norway.

The topics that aroused most interest in this edition of the Congress were the care and prevention of implant infection problems, bone reconstruction in cases of lack of bone and immediate loading.

The EAO is an international, interdisciplinary and independent scientific association that contributes to the dissemination of scientific studies on osseointegration, including the field of implant dentistry. This allows specialists like the Ahoa Clinic team to contribute to research in this area and share the results with the rest of the international scientific community.
