Immediate load dental implantology: everything you need to know

Última modificación:

Dental implantology revolutionized at the time the possibility for people to restore their teeth. From the irreparable loss of teeth, we moved on to dentures, and from these to dental implants, i.e. teeth implanted in the bone itself by means of artificial roots. Now, immediate load dental implantology allows this complete restoration of teeth in a single intervention, with a minimum of discomfort and in a faster and more effective way, without the need to wait months to enjoy the result of the treatment.

Dental implantology

We can define dental implants as artificial roots that are implanted in the mandibular or maxillary bone, which creates a solid base to place dental prostheses. Implants are the best substitute for lost or deteriorated natural teeth, they allow a total recovery and/or improvement of both esthetics and functionality.

Dental implants allow patients to enjoy their teeth as if they were brand new, because they are

  • They rehabilitate the function of the teeth.
  • They allow chewing with comfort and safety.
  • They recover the esthetic aspect.
  • They allow to speak perfectly, with correct phonation and diction.
  • They return the smile with security and confidence.
  • They eliminate the psychological trauma of not having teeth, or having them in bad condition.
  • Improves self-esteem and social relationships.

Immediate load dental implantology

In the case of immediate load implantologythe advantages for the patient are even greater, since it allows the patient to enjoy the new teeth in only 24 hours, with a faster and more effective intervention and with less discomfort.

Thus, immediate load dental implantology by means of virtual guided surgery consists of the realization of dental implants in a single intervention. What do we get with it?

  1. The procedure is faster, thus reducing the time needed to perform it, and therefore the surgical trauma.
  2. As it is faster, the patient recovers in 24 h, and not in the 5 to 7 days of a usual procedure.
  3. In one day the patient leaves with fixed teeth, and can eat, drink and lead a normal life.
  4. Rejection rates are reduced: more than 98.6% of the implants performed in our clinic have been successful.
  5. We carry out a 3D study with virtual surgery that helps to detect and solve possible problems in advance, such as lack of bone for dental implants.

In short, a faster, more effective technique with less discomfort for all people who need to replace their teeth. This is a very common situation after a certain age, as time deteriorates our oral health, but it can also occur due to accidents or diseases at any age.

How exactly does immediate load implant dentistry work?

Each case is unique and requires a specific solution, so times may change in some cases, but there are some phases common to any immediate loading implant procedure:

  1. Visit and case study. In the first visit we study each specific case, we carry out the necessary tests to have all the information, as well as to be able to prepare the budget for the person, and the adapted payment plan if desired.
  2. Laboratory study. We carry out an analysis of the relationship of the teeth and the occlusion, with which we make a mold with the new teeth. A 3D scanner allows us to make a study of the bone, to decide the optimal placement of the teeth. With all this, we create new teeth adapted to you in functionality and aesthetics.
  3. Intervention. Fifteen days after the first visit we can perform the intervention, extract the damaged teeth and place the implants in the exact position indicated by the virtual guided surgery. After six hours we place the new provisional teeth, with which you can eat, drink, speak and smile normally.
  4. Revision and definitive teeth. After seven days we remove the stitches, and after forty-five days we perform a revision. At three months we place the definitive teeth.

From here, we provide you with a few simple tips for tips to take care of your dental implants and your oral health in general. We also recommend regular check-ups, but otherwise you can enjoy your teeth as if they were brand new.

Both during the process and afterwards, we are at your disposal to answer any questions you may have.

At Ahoa we are specialists in immediate load implantology and advanced dental treatments. In addition, we are pioneers in the study of a new technique of guided surgery applied to surgery technique that reduces the rate of rejection.
